Good skin care helps lead to better skin and, thus, a prime palette for your make up.
While I do have daily skin care steps, I like to try do special things once a week or so – such as a masque.

I picked up this Chocolate Milk Masque from Bathhouse Soapery and Caldarium a few months ago to try something new. This product contains cocoa powder and milk and is designed to make the skin feel firmer and tighter by minimizing pores.

Like any other powder based masque, you make a paste by adding water and applying to the skin and allow to dry (don’t forget your neck). Now, I will say they have a video from the owner on the website and she says that you can use any hydrator you wish with this masque if you think it would be good for your skin (milk, honey, yogurt to name a few).
Now, I tend to just mix my water and powder in my hand and create a huge mess all over the bathroom sink (and tend to make my masque a bit too watery). It is suggested a better application is to you a large concealer brush and a bowl to mix and apply so you can truly get a paste like finish.
Either way, this masque tends to dry pretty quickly and washes off easily. It definitely does tighten the skin as I feel a little dry post masque and always apply a moisturizer once I am done. And the best part is the smell – that cocoa powder makes it a decadent treat for the senses.
Again, you know from my post last week that Bathhouse is a guilty pleasure of mine so do not be surprised to see more products from them in the future.
Cheers!
